Out of the Darkness

We had a major snow and wind storm on Friday and a fire at one of our power generator sites which left most of the island without power yesterday and there are still around 35000 people without power.

Mom stayed here Friday night and we lost power around 9 Saturday morning. Around 4pm my sister called and said there was power on at Mom's building but neither one of wanted to drive since there was still a lot of wind and with the lights out across town they were telling people to stay off the roads. When Albert got off work at 5 he came and drove us to Mom's where we stayed last night. The lights cam on here at lunchtime but we stayed at Mom's until after supper to give the house time to warm up.

Aaron was suppose to start school tomorrow but they've decided to keep the schools closed until Wed to conserve power and they said we may have rolling blackouts.

A new year and hopefully a new blogger

This year I have two resolutions, to save some money and be a better blogger. 

I'm saving because CTMH has announced their convention locations for the next 3 years, in 2014 and 2015 it will be in Disneyland and 2016 it will be in Disney World.  Albert and I have agreed that we will be taking Aaron to Disney World so I can go to the convention again and we can have a family trip.

I'm also determined to share more of my scrapbooking and pictures with all of you.  I'll start with some pictures from our Christmas.

And the other big news in our family, my nephew Justin d his girlfriend Caroline got engaged on Christmas Eve and we had a party for them on New Year's Day before they went back to Calgary.

 

 

 

Maybe I'm just no good at blogging

or maybe my life is to boring.  Although I haven't been doing much of anything lately, I've hurt a muscle in my shoulder, the supraspinatus muscle, and it hurts to get dressed, to turn the steering wheel and everything else that requires using my right arm.  I've stared physio and have exercises but I'm sitting still as much as I can, that's about 5 min a day.

Renovation Decorating, and Organization to do list Part 1

There are so many things I want to do around the house and since summer is starting to wind down I thought I would start by making a list.  Some of these will only take an hour to do and some will require a budget to complete but having them all in one place will help me accomplish them.

We've recently painted Aaron's room, bought new Mario bedding and  replaced the light so most of his room is done but there are a few things to finish up

Convention Highlights

I said in my last post I was done with Convention but CTMH posted a video of the highlights and I'm in it.  Check it out and you can see me at :09  you can see me a couple of other times in the video but this is the best.

Once again life comes before blog posts.  It's been so nice here that we've spent every minute we can outside and I've been trying to get work done  outside while the weather is good.

What is happening at CTMH

Sorry it has taken so long for me to post about all the great new things in the new Fall-Winter idea book.  I really haven't stopped since I got home.

We have a brand new Cricut Cartridge called Artbooking.  Here are a few projects displayed during convention using this cartridge.

Florida

Hey everyone, I'm in Florida for the CTMH convention.  Sorry I haven't posted before, just way to busy.

I arrived on Tuesday around supper time in spite of a unannounced gate change in Newark, and met up with my roommates Brenda and Joann.  After we ate we went to the Outlets on Vineland Ave.  I bought a few things for Aaron but nothing for myself, just to tired to try things.

Yesterday we headed to Magic Kingdom and Epcot.  Brenda had never been before and it's been 25 years since I was here last.  We had lots of fun but it was very hot and my legs are killing me.  The girls had meetings with their CTMH teams after supper so I headed back to Magic Kingdom again until 10.  We're off to Epcot again for the Twilight ticket CTMH gave us so I'll leave you with a few pictures and post about the business side of my convention later

Last post I promised pictures and here they are.  First up is Aaron's Room, I painted a really pretty blue colour called Starry Night and then did stripes on one wall with Stop Sign Red, White, and Leaf Green.  We then bought a Mario comforter and stuck Mario Peel and Stick stickers on the walls.

 

 

Next up is some pre- Close to My Heat Convention pictures.  Every year at convention consultants make cards to swap with each other so here is the card I've made.
